Mission: Mail Call - Updates for April 2021

UPDATES FROM THE FIELD

Mobile Operations

Our 2021 Mobile USO Program, presented by Boeing, has been busy bringing our USO-Metro programming directly to our military community. Led by Kyle Barr and Amanda Hatfield, our fleet of mobile vehicles serves the National Capital Region’s 30+ remote military locations without a USO Center facility. Examples of these installations includes PAX River, Aberdeen, 8th & I, Coast Guard Yard, Indian Head, and Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling.

Whether it is a hotdog cookout, unit support, or hosting an outdoor movie night, our mobile operations team brings the energy and excitement. USO-Metro looks forward to warmer weather and more socially distanced events in the months ahead, like our MLB Opening Day celebration at Dahlgren Naval Base on April 12th. Be on the lookout for our team traveling across the region this spring and please give them a supportive HONK!

DEVELOPMENT

Round Up for the Troops

It’s that time of year again when our wonderful partners at Harris Teeter kick off their annual round up campaign. From April 7th to June 15th, show your support of our military service members and their families by rounding up to the nearest dollar at checkout in all Harris Teeter stores. 100% of the funds raised will be donated to USO programs and services. You can even ask to round up while shopping online!
