Google Cloud Partners with USO-Metro to Present Combat2Canvas to Wounded, Ill and Injured Service Members
Combat2Canvas is one of USO-Metro’s signature art resiliency programs. In the week-long workshop, participants tell the story of their military service through original works of art and writing.
“It wasn’t just about taking your uniform, turning it into paper and drawing a picture,” said Purple Heart Recipient Scott Phanco. “It was more about everyone talking to each other, getting their experiences out and seeing what other soldiers have done in the past.”
Phanco participated in the program after relocating to Fort Belvoir for combat-related treatment.
Google Cloud has generously contributed the funds for USO-Metro to offer this life-changing workshop.
“We are incredibly honored to support USO-Metro’s Combat2Canvas,” Scott Frohman of Google Cloud Federal said. “We offer our heartfelt thanks to our service members and their families.”
