USO-Metro Monthly Center Highlights

May is Military Appreciation Month and USO-Metro staff, volunteers, and corporate partners joined in the fun! From the Invincible Spirit Festival at Fort Belvoir, to Girl Scout Cookies distribution at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, the USO-Metro Centers continued the mission of keeping service members and their families connected to family, home and country!

USO Warrior and Family Centers

The USO Warrior and Family Centers served the military community this month with fun programs and the Invincible Spirit Festival!

USO Warrior and Family Center at Fort Belvoir

A little bit of rain couldn’t stop the USO Warrior and Family Center at Fort Belvoir from hosting the Invincible Spirit Festival! In partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation and the Robert Irvine Foundation, military and their families were able to enjoy free food, face painting and balloon animals, and a concert featuring the Lt. Dan Band!

USO Warrior and Family Center at Bethesda

Volunteers and staff celebrated Nurses Week by sharing chocolate with the nurses at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. We are grateful for all of their hard work in taking care of service members and their families!

The Rolling Thunder, Inc. Virginia Chapter 3 hosted a delicious BBQ lunch at the USO Warrior and Family Center at Bethesda. There were bikes and BBQ!

Airport Lounges

Our USO-Metro Airport Lounges had many memorable moments this month serving traveling service members and their families!

BWI Airport USO Lounge

The BWI Airport USO Lounge shared poppies with visitors to wear in honor of fallen service members.

Dulles International Airport USO Lounge

Volunteers at the Dulles International Airport USO Lounge had the opportunity to assist with wounded warriors as they traveled.

Reagan Airport USO Lounge

A volunteer decorated a window at the Reagan Airport USO Lounge with special items and mementos to honor Memorial Day.

Joint Base Andrews Airport USO Lounge

The Joint Base Andrews Airport USO Lounge thanked service members and veterans for their service of our country in honor of May’s Military Appreciation Month.

Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall USO Honor Guard Lounge

USO-Metro staff invited service members to pick up Girl Scout cookies!

USO Fort Meade

USO Fort Meade made a tongue-twister when they invited guests to visit Barb and Bonnie at the Bakery Bonanza!

USO Fort Meade also celebrated Petty Officer Sabia’s re-enlistment into the Navy! It is always an honor to recognize our military members and their service.

Baltimore MEPS USO

The Baltimore MEPS USO shared their farewell to the Baltimore MEPS USO and Fort Meade USO center supervisor.

USO-Metro Mobile and Field Operations

The USO-Metro Mobile and Field Operations shared that Project Cinderella lottery tickets are now open! Learn more about Project Cinderella and enter the lottery here.

The USO-Metro Mobile were out early to provide support to the Marine Historic Half Marathon in Fredericksburg, Virginia!
