NASCAR Racer and U.S. Navy Reservist Jesse Iwuji joined military families at the USO Warrior and Family Center at Bethesda to share his personal story as well as a little about racing on the track.
Iwuji began racing while a student at the U.S. Naval Academy, before making it as a professional in 2015, while still an active duty service member.
Still today, he continues to balance work, military service and a full-time racing career.
Iwuji later partnered with USO-Metro to surprise two military service members with a behind-the-scenes tour at ISM Raceway and the opportunity to watch the race in the pits.
“I can’t wait to have one of you out there at the race,” Iwuji said. “You’re going to meet some cool people, see some cool things from behind the scenes at a real, live NASCAR event. Get ready, because it’s going to be a blast!”
You can learn more about the former Navy Football standout and prior U.S. Navy Lieutenant on his Facebook page at Jesse Iwuji Racing.
