Virtual Firecracker 5k & 1 Mile for the Troops presented by Leidos

Celebrate Independence Day and join USO-Metro from July 3 through July 5 for the Virtual Firecracker 5K and 1 Mile Walk/Run to support our troops and their families!

Open to runners of all ages, the virtual 5K and run/walk is a great way for our community to come together and celebrate the 4th of July while supporting the programs and services that USO-Metro offers our active duty military members and their families.

Active duty military members can represent their branch of service by racing in the event’s “Battle of the Branches” competition. Potomac River Running will make a financial donation to USO-Metro in honor of the winning branch!

Net proceeds from the event’s corporate sponsors will benefit USO-Metro to help fund critical programs and services that serve the nearly 300,000 military members living in the Washington-Baltimore region and the 150,000 who travel through local airports each year.
